The Fire Phone was Amazon’s first attempt to enter the smartphone market, developed in collaboration with the electronics giant Foxconn. Officially unveiled on June 18, 2014, the device featured unique 3D-like “Dynamic Perspective” technology that responded to how users tilted or moved the phone. Building on the momentum of its Kindle Fire tablets, Amazon aimed to expand its hardware ecosystem. Pre-orders for the Fire Phone began immediately following the announcement.
